Cheryl Roy

Treasurer

As an ally of the LGBTQIA community, she feels honored to serve on the Board of Directors of Camp Sunflower since its beginning in 2017. She was one of the few that was instrumental in Camp Sunflower coming to fruition. It has been amazing to see the growth of the youth that have attended the camp. She is glad that she can support our LGBTQIA youth that looks at Camp Sunflower as a sense of hope and well-being. She comes from a financial background and has helped build one other nonprofit. Now retired, she enjoys her role as wife, mom, grandmother, and volunteer.

Dave Roy

Dave has been a driving force in getting a dream that was envisioned by his church in 2015 brought to reality. That dream was to create a camp to support our LGBTQIA youth. It took three years to bring other members of our community with like thinking to hold the first camp in 2018. Throughout his life, he has loved working with youth and understands the need for all youth to be loved, listened to, and understood but of most be true to themself. Dave is now living his retirement years spending time helping others, walking, and enjoying the great outdoors.

Will Rapp

Will Rapp has a long career of work in education and public service on a number of community boards. Of special emphasis is his work with special needs and at-risk youth. Mr. Rapp has been a board member and volunteer for GLSEN Greater Wichita, an organization dedicated to making schools safe for all kids through anti-bullying education. He has served as a professional development trainer for educator in-services as the organization’s treasurer and host for special events. Rapp has also given time as a board member for Camp Sunflower Kansas, a youth camp for LGBTQIA individuals and Bloom House Youth Services, an inclusive refuge for youth in need.
