What: The CIT (Counselor in Training) Program is intended for youth who have previously attended Camp Sunflower, are too old to attend as a camper, and not yet old enough to return as staff. There may be limited CIT spots available for folks to meet these criteria, but have not previously attended Camp Sunflower. The CIT Program is a leadership program for LGBTQ+ youth that will help support the Junior Camp during the day, and will work with Camp Sunflower staff on leadership training (and some Camp Sunflower fun!) in the evenings. Please submit your application for admission in this program below.
The Camp Sunflower staff brings many years of diverse and relevant experience including many years of experience with other camps for LGBTQ+ youth. We believe that all young people deserve and need supportive and affirming communities, and we are excited to help create these spaces to serve Kansas LGBTQ youth. We are thrilled that you are considering being part of this experience with us!
Camp Sunflower is a safe and welcoming space that affirms everyone regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
